Make it stand out

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Why?

Why should anyone watch, read, listen to or care about the story you want to tell or what your brand is trying to sell.

It’s the ‘why’ conundrum I love to solve. (Collaboratively if possible).

How can we make your story, engaging, useful and relevant for today?

The question opens the doors to a playground of new opportunities, formats and platforms.

From telling stories to building stories.

It’s the why I get out of bed.

Me

I’m a hybrid. For 12-years an ECD, a writer, director, content creator, sometime strategist and often frontman.

I’ve a proven track record of managing relationships, people and projects from concept to completion.

I love to make things. Hopefully things people like.

I learnt my craft in advertising, then honed my thinking in a world of multichannel, social and content.

I’m flexible, happy to work as a team or independently.

Over time I’ve been able to build an extensive black book, a network of people in design photography, film production and post.

The work on this site is a selection of projects I’ve been heavily involved with over the last few years in my role as writer, director and ECD working with the talented team at AYS. There’s lots more across almost every sector. Please just shout if you’re looking for anything specific and I can hopefully share some examples.

CV – A brief history.

 BA(hons) Graphic design. Liverpool.

I started out as a copywriter working under extraordinary David Abbott at AMV/BBDO, working on brands such as Volvo, RSPCA, Sainsbury’s and Walkers (claim to fame, I’m the voiceover for the Monster munch and Chewits monsters, yes really).

After 6-years I moved to learn some more at BBH under the watchful eye of Sir John Hegarty.

I was lucky enough to ply my trade on accounts such as Levis, Boddingtons, Audi and Perfetti.

6-years later, again, I moved to WCRS as Creative Director stepping into the worlds of BMW, Camelot, IDV, Orange, CNN, Sky and Miele.

I was part of the management buyout to create Engine group.

In 2008 I was inspired to join and set up Adjust Your Set, a content agency before anyone talked about content.

As ECD I’ve worked with brands such as M&S, Facebook, Nando’s, HSBC, Barclaycard, E.ON, Carphone warehouse, British Airways, Visit Britain, Hertz, Pizza Express, Axa, Unilever, Bacardi, Lloyds, The Guardian…

In June 2017 AYS became part of the Oliver family.

In Feb 2020 I left needing a new challenge. Who new what March would bring…

I’m lucky to have been awarded by: D&AD, One Show, BTA, Cannes, Eurobest, Kinsale, Campaign Big Awards, Promax, Creative Circle. Clio. Webby and The Drum content awards.

And a jury Member @: Cannes - Branded Content and Entertainment, Eurobest, Campaign Big Awards, Creative Circle, Brand Republic digital, Drum Branded Content, One Show.

I know what you’re thinking…Yes. Monster munch. I know. I know.
